Who is better kagome or kikyo
But for a fifteen year old boy with no social upbringing, he tries remarkably hard, and no he does not undermine her schoolwork in the manga outside of very early on. Some of your complaints are still in the manga though. But there is a continued insistence upon forcing Kikyou into her storyline at every turn. Furthermore Kagome is treated as if she should feel guilty about the way she behaved toward Kikyou, which is frankly ridiculous.
Kikyou literally tried to kill her. In all but one of her interactions with Kikyou in manga canon, she was cold and rude to her. As a manga reader, I actually thought the story was going to end with Inuyasha in the present, not Kagome in the past. Rumiko put in what I felt was a lot of foreshadowing for it much of which was cut from the anime , and to me it made so much more sense.
Basically I do agree that the narrative of Inuyasha treats Kagome unfairly, but not to the point that the anime does. I think, generally when it comes down to it, like Kagome, many opinions about Kagome are done through the anime, and through the anime his stand-off-ish and generally attitude toned up in the anime. This is due to two reasons, fights with Shippo in the anime are a lot more notable see many fillers , and his fights with Kagome are toned up because both Kagome and himself are shown to be a whole lot angrier and actually fight a lot more with one another.
Up to the point of the Noh Mask arc, he generally acted like a jerk he even tried to block her from going back to her time by destroying the well once , in the Noh Mask arc.
Kagome has to make up a test because she failed a previous one because of her time in the past. She asks Inuyasha if he would mind letting her stay, and he refuses. This refusal pushes her over the egde and she pushes him down into the well, yelling at him for his selfish attitude. This was built up into the series because Inuyasha was shown to be extremely selfish when it came to the Shikon no Tama, but this was the moment where Kagome stood up for herself and scolded him for his attitude.
Showing that he better understood that things were important to her as well. After this, any issues with tests and studying that he had simply came to his own jealousy because it meant that Kagome would have to leave for a few days. He had a belief that he could use Tsubaki to take out Kagome, and of course, that failed miserably.
I think in this situation, I do think Kikyo is getting a little too much credit here, because the opposite is more often than not the case.
Asuza is a good look at this situation. Other than that, she is viewed by Kikyo as the greater threat to Naraku, so much so that Kikyo has to use the jewel to attempt to establish a place in the situation. Remember her giving the jewel to Naraku?
Jump ahead a little and recall her discussion with Inuyasha where she outright states that she is the only person that can defeat Naraku. Before this point, Kagome always had the upperhand and even after this point, Kagome still had a large advantage over Naraku.
When you look at their records against Naraku, Kikyo has never reached the point where she has actually damaged Naraku in any capacity, in fact each of the situations with Naraku hurt were due to Kagome pulling the trigger, or coming close to defeating him herself. This says a lot, coming from the what is the counter to Midoriko. Naraku ducking and dodging Kagome most of the series shows just how much of a force Kagome was to be reckoned with, he event went above and beyond with Hitomiko and still was defeated, and never dropped to his level any point before this.
Which I tend to think also gets a little overlooked. Kagome goes through some of the most emotionally stresed situations in the series and retains who she is, she never uses someone to achieve a goal, her focus remains the same, she never loses herself in the mess that Naraku attempts to create.
How many could actually have Sesshomaru actually speak with them like they were a person. After their encounters with one another down the line, there is a notable amount of respect from his position. Generally though, without explaination from Takahashi, it could be assumed that the soul natural grew as it reincarnated. Kagome would be that point. The soul itself though explains her powers, but it also explains why the Shikon no Tama wanted her to be the successor to Midoriko.
Kagome refuses to tell Inuyasha what has happened at that point. Even though Inuyasha would have believed her, she decided not to say anything because she believed that it sounded she making it up, in the end it would make her into a tattle-tale. The next situation, Kikyo was definitely in the wrong, she should have apologized and had every right to be angry with Kikyo.
The problem was when Inuyasha arrived she misunderstood the situation and it ended up with them getting into a fight because of it. I found while reading there were many hints at Kagome remaining in the past. Inuyasha lacked the capacity to live that kind of life and considering how he naturally is, the future would would be more trouble for him than needed. Throughout the story, their were hints that Kagome was going to remain in the past if the situation came to it everything from her friends , but also how the more time she spent in the past, the more she seemed to outgrow the future.
Her interaction with her friends was a example of that, each time they would meet later and later into the story, Kagome just felt like she was in a completely different world from them. Haha, but no, I appreciate your comment greatly. Much like in western media when books are made into movies, or comics made into TV shows. When manga is made into anime material can often times be distorted, and prominent, important aspects of the stories and characters are left out.
It sounds as though Inuyasha in the manga treats Kagome with much more respect than he does in the anime. The frustrating part of it all is that there was so much potential in the series, especially with Kagome and her relationships with other characters, including Inuyasha.
The bits you talk about with Kikyo are exactly how I felt watching the anime. Which was unfair towards Kagome as a character, and especially as our main protagonist.
But yes, I really do need to set aside time to read the manga. Readers of the manga will note just how one-sided the situation was in context. This was one of the most notable times where the anime writers took liberties with the storyline.
And another minor scene at the beginning of the Illusionary Death sequence. Kikyo lovers usually hate Kagome and Kagome lovers hate Kikyo. Kagome got Inuyasha in the end, so stop dieing about it! Anyway, I like Kikyo better but I also like Kagome just a little less, so there you go, very late answer, but whatever. She is cheerful, helpful and has a likable personality. She taught InuYasha how to smile, have fun and rely on others.
She, in my opinion is also forgiving. Kikyo on the other hand is also sweet and prefers to be duty-bounded. But there's just something about her personality that makes me like her less. Even though she was sad and lonely, she still continued to heal people and she was kind to the villagers. Well, kikyo has her reasons for using the sacred arrow on Inuyasha.. But Kikyo is so much cooler than her She still helps him out and tries to cheer him up.
She saves Kikyo twice when Kikyo tries to kill her and when she saves Kikyo she doesn't even get a 'thanks' or 'thank you'. Kagome never gave the jewel shards to Naraku like Kikyo did. She loved Inuyasha for who he is unlike Kikyo who wanted him to be human. Kagome even adopted Shippo! She has been there and forgave him when he tried to get the jewel shards.
She is more understanding as well as caring. She loves Inuyasha yet she still allows him to see Kikyo with out going into a huff. She may not be as powerful as Kikyo but I believe she is kinder and better. The story is told from her point of view and if you hate her so much why would you even care about the story enough to even read or watch it??? Kagome and Kikiyo both went through a lot so i'm not going to judge them. No one went through what they did.
I think she was a horrible female lead, annoying, and really just a plain. ShanaIgo said: Well Ofcorse i choose Kikyo. She is cool and usefull than Kagome.
Kagome is just a little child XD. When i first time saw Kikyo i was like " uuuhhh She is soo cool and the hair is soo beautiful. I dont really hate kagome. I cried when Kikyo die but it was cute whe inuyasha kiss kikyo. Even kikyo is death i still always always love her. I really like to draw Kikyo cause she is beautiful. Kagome is one of the worst main heroines that I have ever seen. With her constant complaining and whining and every sit she uses on poor Inuyasha.
She hardly gets hurt and she's just awful. Kikyou on the other hand,is way better. She's kinder and more respected. She doesn't have to scream for Inuyasha every single time she gets caught.
Her character in general is better. She's not annoying, she's quite useful. Also for the whole looks thing,Kikyou looks prettier than Kagome. Thank you, so much, my friend, for preventing a huge rant on why Kikyo's better NV99 posted over a year ago.
Well, I honestly somewhat liked Kagome intitially. Her jeaously was kinda acceptible as well, because defects sometimes drive a character closer to perfection. It makes them relatable. She would so soon become pretty unbearable to me though simply because it took her way too long to start actually relating to Kikyo. She just kept whinging throughout the whole thing lol.
I think that in the beginning of the series, Inuyasha was only starting to develop feelings for Kagome, and still loved Kikyo more, but by the end, he realized that he loved Kagome more. In episode 48, he didn't really realize his love for Kagome, and he chose Kikyo, but in episode , he had the option to go after Kikyo, but stayed with Kagome because he realized he would rather be with her.
He also gets really jealous when other guys are around Kagome. He is always protecting her, and depressed when she goes back to her own era. It might seem like he loved Kikyo more because, in my opinion, she was more open to Inuyasha, and Inuyasha didn't want to admit to himself that he loved Kagome, but Kagome and Inuyaha are both stubborn, and dont want to admit their feelings to each other.
So yeah, I think he loved Kikyo at first, but by the end, he loved Kagome more. At a time I really didn't like Kikyo. I disliked her without trying to understand her point of view. I read a few answers and I see that someone people hate Kagome for always asking Inuyasha what he and Kikyo were talking about. I would like to explain this. At first I didn't fully understand either, but when you go back to the series, when Kagome and Inuyasha started to spend time together before Kikyo was revived they both developed feelings for each other.
Like with Kikyo it was like a relationship withouth the status boyfriend and girlfriend. So when Kikyo appeared Kagome obviously wanted to know what they talked about. In one episode Inuyasha said to Miroku "I suppose I can't have both of them. Meaning he had feelings for them both. Kikyo is a good person even though it's sometimes hard to see. I imagine with her new found freedom as a dead priestess she found it easier to hate or be angry since she didn't have the obligation to be nice or anything like that.
She indulged herself with her freedom is all. The reason I like Kagome more than Kikyo is simply because I find her very understanding. Sure she gets mad sometimes and she has her faults, but she realizes that being jealous and bitter towards Inuyasha and Kikyo's relationship is normal. She realizes that even though she feels that way it does't mean she should naturally hate them for it. Kagome and Kikyo don't seem to hate each other either.
Though at first Kikyo might have thought less of Kagome simply because she is her reincarnation she came to understand that Kagome deeply cares for Inuyasha I'm not talking about love In some ways the two are similair. They both care for Inuyasha and they both love him. They also know that Inuyasha cares for both of them as well though Kagome may be a little bit ignorant to that fact since she feels Inuyasha can only love Kikyo because she was his first love.
I dont think it's needed to hate either character. I'm sure the creator didn't want them to be hated when she made the character.
I'm not saying you're not aloud to hate them if you feel like it. I'm just stating my own opinion. I like Kagome and don't like Kikyo. That's it. Oh and Kagome might be a more childish then Kikyo since I figure Kagome is in fact younger than the dead priestess. Someone mention Kagome was immature, hehe, just saying. SO yeah, hope not to get hated for my own opinion.
Why should Inuyasha be together with a dead girl? I just can't understand why people fight over something that the answer is already there, Inuyasha and Kagome is confirmed!
True doodllecake posted over a year ago. No Kikyo wanted to be a normal woman so they could be together NV99 posted over a year ago. Kikyo didn't ask him to be human out of a desire. You're taking things out of context. Well, if you really love someone you had to accept them just the way they are, that's what true love does. Acceptance is one of the key foundation of great relationship, without it, love cannot stand last. Eiae said: Kikyou.
I like how independent she is. She was willing to die with her lover after she pinned him to a tree. She didn't dare to use jewel to save her own life. Kikyou decided to end the chaos of demons doing anything to capture the jewel by having the jewel disappear with her body.
It is good idea to bring in peace into the village. She always practiced her aim while she was alive. She is always caring toward everyone she meets. She is very wise and clever person. Kikyou uses her powers to save Kohaku life instead of keeping the jewel shard pure. Her light was more focus on the boy living his future.
She is girl with a lot of negative events surrounding her own life, but still able to be a victorious priestess. This is only a small portion of why i believe she is so amazing. Seeing someone who basically live a happy life with small about of pain is not all that great. It just shows a person who have a good life sometimes have a few downs.
It is more amazing seeing someone who is standing up with all odds against her. She'd felt sad when the girl whom she claim that she adore like a little sister saw scary part of her telling the monk to leaver her be. No one is there whenever she getting kill.
She always end up dying alone. In her final death, she was able to find peace. Inuyasha feels like a hypocrite. He is able to save kagome girl when she is in trouble. He was not able to detect that Naraku was pretending to be her. I think Kikyo realised after Kagome had saved her exactly where she had failed and Kagome had succeeded. After that, she even adopts the philosophy of saving whomever she could, especially when she was the only one who could do it, much more actively in the fight against Naraku.
The thing is, he was always tempted to choose the former, but ultimately chose the latter. Kagome was his future. Physically speaking, there were only two real people involved in this love "triangle". The history that Inuyasha and Kikyou shared was unrivaled.
She was his first genuine love interest and the two experienced a connection unlike any other. As a matter of fact, Kikyou adored Inuyasha so much that she offered to help him shed his demon side and become fully human. However, these plans were shattered by the series' main antagonist, Naraku, who was directly responsible for Kikyou's death. He disguised himself as Inuyasha and critically wounded Kikyou. Then, he disguised himself as Kikyou and attacked Inuyasha.
Later on, the real Kikyou used her last bit of energy to seal her lover to The Sacred Tree. Talk about a wild history! Kagome was always known to be understanding, compassionate, and incredibly forgiving. She might have been young and inexperienced, but she had a big heart that solidified her as a fan favorite.
She loved Inuyasha so much that she actively did her best to understand the perilous situations he found himself in. Kagome had to deal with being second fiddle in Inuyasha's mind for a long time, yet she always stood by him and their team. Her kind personality was a rare burst of light within their dangerous Feudal universe. Despite various instances of suffering, Kagome remained loyal and generous. The last thing that Kikyou perceived before dying was that the love of her life had "betrayed" her.
She had no way of knowing that it was Naraku's doing at the time. This chain of events had been out of her control, therefore she still grappled with her feelings for Inuyasha after learning the truth.
